THE VENTURA COUNTY BLACK EXPO HAS BEEN POSTPONED. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR OUR NEW DATE
Culture. Connections. Causes.
Bringing people together for opportunities, knowledge, and purpose.
In response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) crisis, the Black Expo originally scheduled for March 21, 2020 is being postponed. We realize that this is a disappointment, but we are optimistic about the rescheduling of the Black Expo in the coming months. Here is more information about the status of the Black Expo:
Why is the Ventura County Black Expo being postponed?
In response to the outbreak of COVID-19, the state of California mandated the cancellation or postponement of large gatherings. As such, Community Center Park in Camarillo (operated by Pleasant Valley Recreation & Parks District) has decided to cancel/postpone events through April.
Why are you postponing the VC Black Expo instead of canceling it altogether?
We are still very excited about the VC Black Expo and a lot of work has gone into creating a successful event. We have been able to enlist sponsors, employers, vendors, small businesses and community organizations from across the county and beyond. Exhibitors have been enthusiastic about their participation and community organizations are eager to engage attendees. During our street marketing campaigns, we have come across lots of people who have expressed excitement about this event. Our plan is to continue building momentum, work towards maximizing attendance, and make the Black Expo more awesome than it would have been on March 21st.
What is the new date for the VC Black Expo?
The new date has not been determined.
When will you know the new date for the VC Black Expo?
Once clearances are provided by the state and the county, we will schedule the Black Expo on a Saturday that avoids conflicts with other major events in the area.
Will the VC Black Expo still be held at Community Center Park in Camarillo?
We are not certain that the event will be held at the same venue. With many events needing to be rescheduled, it’s difficult to know how calendars will shape up once we are given the green light to reschedule. In the event that it is not at the same venue, it will be held at a comparable site.
Please let others know about the status of our event and be on the lookout for updates on this website..
Please take good care !

The VC Black Expo is being brought to you by the Ventura County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - an organization of professional women dedicated to public service and sisterhood. For more information about the Deltas of Ventura County, please go to dstvcac.org.
The Ventura County Community Foundation is the lead sponsor of this event, as part of its efforts to ensure that every Ventura County resident is counted in the 2020 Census.
A major goal of the 2020 VC Black Expo is to get the word out about Census 2020. African Americans are considered a Hard-to-Count population and we want to ensure that we reach as many people as possible to educate them about the importance of being counted and how to participate in this year's census awareness activities. This is being done through Ventura County Black Count 2020 - an initiative of the Ventura County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
